Tax-ready is not decision-ready

Your bank balance is not a business plan.

A bank balance tells you how much cash is sitting there today.

It cannot tell you what the business owes, whether last month was profitable, which work carried the margin, or how much cash needs to stay put.

Your books should help answer those questions before the decision—not explain the damage afterward.

Can the business afford another employee?

Should we buy equipment or finance it?

How much cash needs to stay in the business?

Which jobs, services, or customers produce the margin?

Where did costs move this month?

What should we discuss with the tax professional before year-end?

Orlando's Landscaping crew moving trees on a job site

Why Small Business Bookkeeping Co. exists

My father knew how to work. The numbers showed us what the work was building.

My father came from Honduras and built Orlando's Landscaping through years of hard work. For a long time, the business mostly operated like his job. Work came in. Bills got paid. Then he went back out and worked some more.

I started there as a laborer in 2019 and worked my way into operations and bookkeeping. Once we began sitting down with the numbers, the questions changed: How much should stay in the bank for winter? Could the business support another crew member? Which services were actually profitable?

I built Small Business Bookkeeping Co. for owners who understand their operations but were never given a financial system that shows what all that work is building.

Zero-lift onboarding

You hand off the books. You keep the understanding.

01

Start with a free review

We talk through the business, where the books stand, what is not working, and what you want the numbers to help you accomplish.

02

Receive a clear scope

We review transaction volume, accounts, payroll, cleanup needs, and seasonality before giving you a price.

03

Connect the essentials

We request as few documents as possible and establish secure, view-only access wherever available.

04

Get a monthly rhythm

You send receipts by photo. We close the books, deliver the reports, and review the numbers based on your plan.

From unclear margins to confident bids

“Skylar completely cleaned up our books. He showed us exactly where we were losing money on jobs. Now we know our actual margins. We can bid with absolute confidence.”

I highly recommend Skylar. We did not have any real bookkeeping before him and our old tax person would just charge us a crazy amount at the end of the year to catch everything up. Skylar stepped in and saved us so much time. Our books are always ready now and getting taxes done last year was incredibly easy. 10/10 recommend.

They been a huge help with QuickBooks training and monthly bookkeeping for our fencing company. The team taught me how to use QuickBooks for invoicing and billing, which helped us move away from paper billing and save a lot of time. Also keeps our books organized and helps us stay prepared for tax season. I’d definitely recommend them to any small business owner needing bookkeeping or QuickBooks help.

Sabillon Advisory has been a big help for our business. Skylar helped us get our bookkeeping more organized and made it easier to understand our cash flow and overall financial picture. The biggest value was having clearer numbers to help me plan ahead and think through eventually stepping back from the company. I’d definitely recommend Sabillon Advisory to any small business owner who wants cleaner books and better insight into their business.

Mr. Sabillon has been a big help for our landscaping company. He helped us get our QuickBooks and bookkeeping more organized, track job expenses better, and understand our cash flow more clearly. It has saved us time, helped us avoid mistakes, and given us a better picture of which jobs are actually profitable. I’d recommend Sabillon Advisory to any landscaping or small service business owner who needs reliable bookkeeping help.

Common questions

Before you hand over the books.

What size business is the best fit?+

Our strongest experience is with owner-operated businesses earning approximately $150,000 to $1 million annually. That is a fit guide, not an absolute cutoff.

Do you only work with businesses in Lexington?+

No. Small Business Bookkeeping Co. is based in Lexington and works with local, regional, and nationwide clients.

What if my books are already behind?+

That is common. We can begin with catch-up bookkeeping, correct the existing file, and then move into monthly service.

Do you prepare tax returns?+

No. Small Business Bookkeeping Co. is not a CPA firm and does not provide legal or tax opinions. We keep your books organized so your tax professional receives clean, usable records.

Can you handle payroll too?+

Yes. Many clients add payroll to monthly bookkeeping so payroll records and the general ledger stay connected.

How much work is onboarding?+

We use a zero-lift onboarding process: request only what is necessary, establish secure access, and minimize recurring document requests. Most receipts can be sent with a photo.

Do you meet with clients each month?+

Review cadence depends on the service plan. Ongoing advisory and managed relationships include regular conversations about the numbers, not just emailed reports.

Is seasonal pricing available outside landscaping?+

It may be available when a business has a real, predictable reduction in workload and transaction volume. We evaluate that during the bookkeeping review.
